Goriano Valli: in the heart of Sirente

On May 26th, in collaboration with the Cuore delle Valli Community Cooperative, we welcomed two classes from the Torretta Primary School of the Paganica Comprehensive Institute of L'Aquila to Goriano Valli.

The young students shared a storytelling experience at MU.DI., the Museo Diffuso (Distributed Museum) located in the alleys of the hamlet of Tione degli Abruzzi, guided by Maria Grazia. Cellars, stables, and houses filled with mysterious objects for the children became stories, shared emotions, and experiential spaces. A museum explored by walking through ancient alleys and the beauty of the landscape.

With Alessandro, they participated in an educational workshop, "The Ceramist's Workshop," an experience to learn about and appreciate the art of ceramics. During the activities, they discovered the artisan's work, the materials he uses, and how they are transformed, experimenting with tools and working techniques. At the end of the workshop, each child took home their own creation.

Accompanied by licensed guides, we will hike the most picturesque trails in close contact with the wild nature of the Abruzzo, Lazio, and Molise National Park and the Sirente-Velino Regional Park, to learn about and discover the flora, fauna, and habitat of our friends: the Marsican brown bear, deer, Apennine wolf, and Abruzzo chamois.

excursions

The experiential workshops are born from the idea of combining study and research—archaeological, environmental, and cultural—with the method of educational and constructive play. Each workshop is designed to impart scientific information through moments dedicated to manual skills and sensory perception, with an immediate and effective learning approach.

educational laboratories

Narrated walks through the historic centers of Barrea, Castel di Ieri, and Goriano Valli, guiding children through the most characteristic aspects of the places visited. This engaging experience helps children fully immerse themselves in the narrative, sharing experiences, values, traditions, customs, and, above all, the culture of a people.
