Welcoming Communities in ABRUZZO

A land of the senses, capable of helping visitors rediscover the essence of their being in harmony with powerful places of pure beauty.
14 villages and 14 communities in mountainous and inland areas of Abruzzo have come together to organize an integrated and authentic tourism offering, designed not for large numbers, but for a tourism model compatible with the places and their communities.
Connecting these different places is the way to express the heterogeneity of a land with ever-changing landscapes, and which finds in its communities the authentic expression of its biodiversity, captivating guests on a profound journey of the senses.
The IN Abruzzo and Borghiin project promotes tourism based on the authentic hospitality of local communities who will accompany guests in discovering stories, people, places, nature, landscapes, food, art, and beauty, offering an intense immersive experience not as a tourist, but as a true resident.

In December, we organized two days to discover Barrea, in the Abruzzo, Lazio, and Molise National Park.

Animated guided tours, shows, and tastings of typical Abruzzo products accompanied an event for adults and children alike.

Wandering Memory

Exhibition of works by artists Maria Cieri and Emmanuel Alcalà Preli.

In August 2025, the "Il Casale sul Lago" artistic residency program was held, under the artistic direction of the Cuore dei Confine association. Five artists from different Italian regions were invited to work closely with the local community, then present their artistic interventions within the tourist hub.
In the initial exploration of the area, the artists were guided to discover both the historical and artistic features of Barrea, its urban fabric, its millennial history, and its environmental features such as flora and fauna, as well as some particularly significant trails in the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park.
This was followed by the design of visual works, which took into account the artistic expressions of each artist and the peculiarities of the territory, finalizing this research towards the production of works capable of creating a "soul" for the interiors of the tourist hub.
The artworks were then installed in dedicated spaces within the structure, with the aim of offering visitors an emotional experience, the result of a close combination of artistic languages, local knowledge, and site-specific visual processing.
